My name is H.K. Gaulding, Broker of Sierra Ozark Corporation. I was born in Ozark County, Missouri, and have lived on the same farm for over 60 years. Why would anyone choose to live elsewhere with all the Ozarks have to offer?

I have been married to my wife Suzanne since 1980. We have 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren. We both love the farm and taking care of cattle. God has truly blessed me much more than I deserve.

I began working alongside Don Smiley as a novice in 2019. In 2021, Suzanne and I were able to purchase Sierra Ozark from him. Don founded the company in 1974. The previous 40+ years, I worked for Donley Feed & Fertilizer selling agricultural products such as feed, fertilizer, and vet and farm supplies to area farmers. The last 20 years as manager of that business gave me experience with both buyers and sellers. Then, being able to work alongside my mentor Don, I gained lots of valuable information from his 45+ years selling Missouri Real Estate.

My beliefs are: 1. The Golden Rule--Matthew 7:12. 2. Be honest and tell the truth. It is so much easier to remember. 3. Always be yourself. It is better to be who you are than to try to be someone you are not. 4. Play the fiddle as often as you can.

Don Smiley

Don Smiley was a native Missouri real estate Broker-Salesman who got his first real estate license in 1972. Born in Kansas City, he served six years in the military. He then worked in real estate for two years in other states before moving to Theodosia in Ozark County, Missouri in 1974, where he founded Sierra Ozark Corporation.

When H.K. Gaulding joined the company in 2019, Don quickly found him to be personable, a good listener, and someone who shared his values and work ethic. In addition, H.K. is one in whom he has complete confidence. As a result, Don now feels blessed to have his license under H.K., his Principal Broker.

Don’s guiding principles are simple ones: Live every day like you might not be given another one. One day, you’ll be right. Always put others first. Give back more than you take, and never forget to give thanks for what you receive. Do your very best, every time. And, if you really look for it, there’s a silver lining in almost everything.
